100 Top Companies with Remote Jobs in 2016

We are excited to announce the release of our third annual list of the 100 top companies to watch for remote jobs in the year ahead! These companies, having posted the most work-from-home jobs in 2015, are at the forefront of telecommuting and remote workforces.
Each year, we compile a list of the 100 companies that posted the most work-from-home jobs (a.k.a. remote, telecommuting, virtual jobs) over the last year. Based on an analysis of the over 40,000 companies in the FlexJobs database, we’ve found the 100 companies with the most remote job postings in 2015. The companies below posted the most telecommute-friendly jobs from January 1 – December 31, 2015. Telecommute-friendly refers to listings that offer some level of telecommuting (the levels on our site are 100 percent, mostly, some, or optional telecommuting). Job seekers, if you’re interested in finding a remote job this year, it’s a good bet that these will be some of the top companies with remote jobs in 2016.

Big Increase in Remote Jobs in 2015
As part of our analysis of telecommuting jobs listed on FlexJobs in 2015, we looked at the rise in remote jobs over the last several years. Telecommuting job listings increased a solid 36 percent from 2014 to 2015, compared to a 26 percent increase from 2013 to 2014.
It appears that not only is remote working on the rise, but opportunities to work from home are increasing at a faster rate. This acceleration is fantastic news for anyone wishing to leave the office for a telecommuting job.

This list must be fake, as IBM is on there. They have virtually eliminated remote work, where is the author getting this data? From 5 years ago?
Jess Vyvial-Larson on October 30, 2017 at 12:33 pm
Hello! This list was published in 2016 with data from 2015. We do have an updated list for 2017 where we included information regarding IBM’s new policy. :)

Remote jobs become more and more usual. Even the real big companies use this practice. It’s really good for both sides: employers don’t need to spend additional time on offices, employees don’t lose time commuting.
The hiring process becomes harder though.

I’m a Biomedical Equipment Technician, specializing in depot repair, technical support, onsite clinical support and installation of anesthesia machines and patient monitors. I had to quit my job as I was driving 120 miles a day to and from work. I would like to work from home, in a technical support role, for a manufacturer but have not been able to find any such job on your site. Am I not looking for the right job title when searching? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Big unemployment in my country. I lost my job 2 years ago, my age is almost 52 years old, I’m trying to find a remote work on the Internet, but it is difficult. I create the names of sites, do posting on the Russian boards, translate articles for the Russian Internet. I would appreciate any advice.

Interesting. I was listening to the news just now, and they said telecommuting in the DC metro area has increased 36% in the last year! Wow. That’s how I found this. I work for the US patent office, full time telecommute. Surprised we didn’t make this list. But? we are a division of Commerce, maybe that is why?

Hello Vishal!
We completely understand when people are skeptical of our site because it is membership-based. Here’s the short version of why we require a subscription:
FlexJobs makes the search for legitimate telecommuting and flexible jobs faster, easier, and safer, and by being a job seeker membership site, we’re 100% devoted to job seekers – not employers, advertisers, or scammers.
We have a team of job researchers who spend 50+ combined hours daily searching for, screening, verifying, and posting jobs that offer flexibility. Ultimately, FlexJobs can save you time, energy, and frustration – and hopefully help you find a job faster! On average, an active job-seeker spends about 15-20 hours a week looking for a job, a majority of that time weeding through the junk. With FlexJobs, you can cut that time down by 90%! Just login to FlexJobs, spend an hour or two finding the quality leads you’re interested in, and then focus on the important part – putting together a great application for each job!
Here are a few resources with more information on why we’re a job seeker membership site:
