HR and Slack

HR and Slack, time and attendance

HR and Slack

About a year ago, my friend asked me if we used Slack at work. At that time, I thought it was a platform only for developers to come to a common platform and ensure on-time project delivery. Today, a lot of companies use Slack for their day-to-day operations, including HR, yes, you heard me right! We use it too.

So, what is Slack? Well, it’s basically inter-office-email plus AOL instant messenger plus storage for files – all on the cloud.

Slack helps HR teams to communicate better so that everyone has the information they require at the right time and feels supported . Imagine if you don’t have to visit numerous applications to ensure you run all HR operations smoothly. Well, that’s going to be a treat to all HR professionals, ain’t it? For example, if someone applies for a job at your organisation, an ATS will notify you in Slack that you have resumes to review.

For all projects that require employees to come together and work on a particular feature, Slack is extremely helpful. It helps organise your projects and keeps you up-to-date on things.

Here are 4 things that you can do with Slack and save a lot of time:

  1. Helps you streamline new hire onboarding by providing all important information to new employees in one place.
  2. Provide quick answers to the frequently asked question in a public channel.
  3. Create one destination for all important benefits-related updates required by for all employees.
  4. Creating channels help build company culture by giving employees a platform to talk about shared interests.

If you’re curious about Slack, you don’t need permission to get started. Just go in there, create a team and get connected!
